Skanska has appointed Andrew English as Managing Director of its infrastructure business.
Andrew previously worked at Skanska for almost a decade, including in two managing director positions, before moving abroad in 2020.
Since then, he has led Australian firm John Holland Group's national infrastructure business, and more recently overseen AtkinsRéalis' transportation division in the UK. During his career, Andrew has built extensive experience across core sectors in the infrastructure market, including transportation, water, energy, aviation and marine.
Andrew will be a member of Skanska's Senior Management Team (SMT) and report to Executive Vice President Thomas Faulkner. Commenting on his appointment, Thomas said: "I'm really pleased to be welcoming Andrew back to the business. He has a proven track record of operational performance, as well as a deep understanding of our customers and company values.
"Andrew is joining us at an excellent time, as we look to build on our strong presence in the highways, rail and water sectors. Under Andrew’s leadership, we look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional projects that leave a lasting legacy for society."
Skanska's infrastructure business delivers design, build and refurbishment expertise. Working closely with its customers, this includes complex civil engineering projects and infrastructure improvements across the country, in the road, rail and water sectors.
Andrew said: "I'm delighted to be re-joining Skanska at this exciting time, as we look to grow and diversify our Infrastructure business.
"Skanska's values, culture and ways of working make it a place that people want to work. I'm really pleased that in relocating to the UK from overseas, I had the opportunity to return.
"I'm now very much focused on supporting our teams to deliver projects that meet and exceed customer expectations, including around productivity, carbon reduction and social value benefits."
