Westminster City Council Proposes New Housing Repairs Policy

Construction News Image
Westminster City Council is proposing a new housing repairs policy.

By taking part in the consultation, residents can make a real impact on the final policy including how we define urgent repairs and how long it should take to fix a repair.

The policy aims to provide a clear understanding about when residents can expect repairs to be done and the service they should receive. It sets out how we will improve management and quality of repairs, through measures such as improved data and record keeping, rigorous contract management, and putting residents at the heart of the service.

Separate policies have been drafted for damp and mould and window restrictors, recognising the importance of these issues for residents’ health and safety.

The housing team are also holding drop-in sessions throughout the consultation period for residents who want to find out more or get help taking the survey:

• West Area Service Centre (155 Westbourne Terrace, W2 6JX) – each Monday between 3:30pm to 5pm

• Central Area Service Centre (24 Greenside Community Centre, Lilestone Street, NW8 8SR) – each Tuesday between 2pm to 4pm

• North Area Service Centre (Glasgow House, Lanark Road W9 1QY) – each Tuesday between 2pm to 4pm

• South Area Service Centre (137 Lupus Street, SW1V 3HE) – each Wednesday between 3pm to 4:30pm.
