Profab Access, a leading manufacturer of wall access panels and riser doors, has achieved EPD for its INTEGRA 4000 Series of riser doors, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to providing architects and specifiers sustainable solutions.
Thanks to its recent verification, the environmental impact from cradle to grave of both the fire-rated and non-fire rated versions of the INTEGRA 4000 Series, renowned for its high performance, are now published and available via the EPD Hub.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a third-party verified report that provides transparent data on the environmental impact of a product throughout its lifecycle. They detail crucial information for architects and specifiers to be able to make informed choices when specifying products for their buildings, including environmental footprint, energy consumption, water usage, waste generation, and greenhouse gas emissions.
The recent EPD verification of Profab Access’ INTEGRA 4000 Series marks the beginning of parent brand Access 360’s plans to extend this accreditation across the entire product portfolio of its wider brands, including Bilco UK and Howe Green.
This initiative comes as part of its mission to provide architects and specifiers with access solutions that meet the highest standards of sustainability, as well as a clear thread of data which provides peace of mind of remaining compliant with current sustainability regulations.
Lara Coutinho, Sustainability Programme Manager, said: "A recent study from the House of Commons’ Environmental Audit Committee highlighted that 25% of all UK carbon emissions are directly attributed to the built environment. Thus, manufacturers have a responsibility to uphold in providing products that meet not only performance expectations, but also contribute positively to the environment.
"The recent EPD publication of our INTEGRA 4000 Series is a great step forward for our Profab Access brand and a testament to both our dedication to sustainability, as well as helping architects and specifiers to make informed decisions that support their buildings’ environmental goals."
As part of its wider commitment to sustainability, Access 360’s operations are set to transform under the 2030 Sustainability Roadmap of parent company, Tyman UK & Ireland, which prioritises reducing carbon emissions, water and waste.
