GMI Construction Group has been appointed to deliver a £23 million speculative industrial and distribution scheme in Staffordshire on behalf of Evans Property Group.
Phase one of Fradley Link, which is located in a prime location off the A38 North of Lichfield, will create in the region of around 280.000 sq ft of high-quality commercial accommodation at Fradley Park.
As main contractor, GMI Construction will deliver two new environmentally sustainable warehouse units of 204,500 sq ft and 78,500 sq ft, which have been designed to suit a range of occupier types.
Construction is now underway with units, which will target BREEAM ‘Excellent’ status and an EPC A rating, expected to be available for occupation from the second quarter of 2025.
The units will feature EV charging facilities, solar panel-ready roofing, symphonic drainage and cycle storage.
This new contract represents GMI Construction’s continued involvement in the development of Fradley Park, which is a prime distribution park comprising over 300 acres of first-class space for distribution, warehousing and manufacturing.
The Midlands-based division of the company has successfully previously delivered multiple schemes on Fradley Park for Evans Property Group including, a 437,000 sq ft distribution facility for online retailer ASOS, a 130,000 sq ft which is currently occupied by Cotswold Furniture and the giant 800,000 sq ft Tesco Regional Distribution Centre.
