A flagship regeneration scheme designed to safeguard existing jobs and bring new employers to Dursley has attracted its first businesses.
Two firms - Everhot and Rooney and Mills - are poised to take up units at the business park being built as part of the environmentally friendly Littlecombe.
Littlecombe will see the creation of a new community comprising 600 homes and a 10-acre business park which will provide 170,000 sq ft of employment space at the 92-acre former Lister Petter site.
It is being led by the South West Regional Development Agency (RDA), which is charged with unlocking the region’s business potential, and the UK's leading regeneration company at St Mowden.
All of the business units at Littlecombe Business Park have been built to the highest standards and achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating. This is the highest rating under the BREEAM system, which is the established way of measuring the environmental impact of the new buildings. This means they will meet increasingly tough environmental regulations for years to come.
The first phase of the business park - which is being marketed by agents Ash & Co - comprises 16 units for small and medium enterprises with a total floorspace of 27,900 sq ft. It includes one 6,400 sq ft detached unit and another 15 ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 sq ft which are suitable for industrial, warehouse and office uses.
With work on the first phase set to be completed next month, heat storage cooking range manufacturer Everhot is due to occupy the 6,400 sq ft building and another unit is under offer to print engineers Rooney and Mills.
Enquiries about the business units should be directed to ASH & Co on: 01452 300433 or St Modwen: on 0117 316 7780.
